Aperitivo Time!
Since many people in this region eat late or have a larger meal midday, they take advantage of aperitivo time for relaxing drinks and the opportunity to enjoy a sample of regional cuisine.
Aperitivo time typically spans from roughly 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
Since we were only in Milan for a short period of time we arranged to take advantage of sunset by the Naviglio Grande. I did a bit of research before arrival and chose to spend a few hours sipping cocktails and white wine at Rebelot, a beautiful restaurant and bar positioned perfectly between two bridges that cross the canal. With the beautifully appointed bar and exposed brick interior, it made for a gorgeous stop!
We had a few tequila drinks, a few glasses of wine, and the daily sample of small bites. This usually consists of some bread, olives, nuts, chips, and sometimes regional favorite meats. As US expats, we developed a liking for various tequila recipes and it’s simply harder to find that in Central Europe. Rebelot, however, had excellent quality alcohol and masterful recipes. If cocktails are something you enjoy it’s a must stop!
