The Path of the Gods

One of the most rewarding activities you can do while visiting the Amalfi Coast just happens to be one of the most cost effective! The views are spectacular and certainly the most beautiful hike that I’ve ever experienced!

The duration of this hike is only about three to four hours but there is a little bit of travel time you need to account for. The path totals just 7.8km in length and is reasonably easy. If you are in good health this is an absolute must when visiting.

The Path of the Gods

The Details

You can piece together your own itinerary by referencing the current bus schedules, or you can do as we did and enlist the help of local resident and guide, Lady Bug! While plotting our course, I came across what I recommend as THE way to experience the Path of the Gods - Saveria’s Airbnb Experience. Not only did we learn a few geographical and historical facts along the way, Saveria is one of the sweetest people we’ve met on our journeys.

Saveria made it exceptionally easy by providing step by step instructions on getting from Positano to Amalfi and strategically plots out a relaxing and seamless schedule to transport up to the begin in Agerola. I tend to do new or different activities when visiting a location for a second time, but this experience is worth repeating if you enjoy nature or an amazing walk.

If you want to conquer this without the company of a guide, be sure to keep an eye on the Amalfi Coast Bus Schedule as it does change. The Path of the Gods begins in Bomerano. The trail ends in Nocelle just above Positano. You can easily walk down from that point to the center of Positano. Nocelle down to Positano was roughly 1,700 steps, which were the steepest elevation change of the walk.

We did enjoy an incredible Lemon Slush in Nocelle just before the final walk to Positano. Don’t miss that!
